Ahead of Schedule – Terra Constructs (Terra) completes Catoctin National Historic Park Renovation for the National Park Service (NPS)
Terra Constructs (Terra) is pleased to announce the completion of the Catoctin National Historical Park at Camp Misty Mount project. The project’s original contract completion date (CCD) of August 3rd would have delayed the use of the campground and facilities for the 2021 summer season. Terra, working in partnership with the National Park Service, coordinated and phased the sequences of construction to gain on the contract schedule. The first milestone entailing the completion of all 34-cabin electrical and underground utility upgrades was completed and accepted prior to Memorial Day Weekend. The second milestone, a new ADA accessible swimming pool and bath house renovation was completed and accepted on July 2nd. The opening of the facilities in advance of the CCD supported the NPS’s desire to open the campground to meet the increased visitor demands and fulfill its mission “to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations”. Terra appreciates the opportunity to support the National Park Service’s mission on this project and we look forward to meeting the future needs of our national parks and forests.
